Murdo from L6G was taken to a fun house in Estonia which looked great fun.

Whiskey from L6A is having many adventures in Sweden and is even learning to play the trumpet and flute!

Nessie from L5P is having a wonderful time meeting lots of furry friends in Estonia.

Scotty from L3C also met new furry friends as a park in Liederdrop.

Minnow from L2W has his first bath after lots of handling.

Going On A Bear Hunt?

We are a little worried back here in Scotland that two of our bears have not reached their destination in Estonia. Have they decided to take the long route around the world rather than fly direct to Tallinn? Are they having fun somewhere else that they have forgotten to finish their journeys? Maybe they joined the circus and are travelling the world showing off their amazing talents!

Mrs Goddard and Mrs Powrie decided that action was required and recruited two new bears to send to Estonia. After some discussion...

Daisy and MacDonald decided to have a look around the world to see if they could see the lost bears.

There guess is they might have stopped at DisneyLand in Paris and are having too much fun. Daisy and MacDonald are going to stop by Disney on their way to Estonia to make sure the bears are not there. Let's hope Daisy and MacDonald don't get caught up in the celebrations at Disney too!!!

Bears Around The World

This year we are sending ten bears around the world to find out about the different cultures of our neighbours in the world. Next Friday we will send our bears to their exchange schools and hopefully our exchange schools will send their bears to us. This is a wonderful opportunity to communicate with children from around the world and learn about similarities and differences between our school/country and theirs. Click on the people in the map below to find out where our bears are going or click on the links at the side of the page.

Adventures In Tallinn

What happened next you are all wanting to know? Well Rusty was not too happy being thrown up into the very large hand of the statue but Brunel made sure he was alright. Going around Tallinn in the summer evening is wonderful. Let me tell you a little bit about Tallinn.
Tallinn has been ruled by many different people who want to own Tallinn. Denmark, Germany, Sweden and Russia have all ruled this country. In 1991 Estonia became independent meaning they were no longer ruled by anyone but themselves.

Tallinn is a city of two halves: one is the old medieval town and the other is modern with sky scrappers. The people speak Estonian, English and Russian. Here are some Estonian words to try:

Tere! Hello!
Tänan! Thanks.
Pank - Bank
Pood - shop

The bears were spoilt on the trip as every day they went somewhere new and had lots of different things to eat. One day they visited an open air museum where they used mobile phones and mobile navigation systems to find there way about.

The bears showed the teachers from around Europe their blogs and some teachers asked if they could be part of the bear exchange next year.

Mrs Tonner is now back at school trying to catch up on all her work and the bears are now having another adventure.

Bear Ahead

Where are the bears? What has this German man done to them? Was he playing basket ball? On a walk around Tallinn on Friday night we saw some lovely sights which were amazing. Don't worry the bears did get down as the German man is HUGE compared to Mrs Tonner.

Tallinn Sight Seeing

Today we were free most of the day so Mrs Tonner took the bears to the parks to read a book in the sun. Rusty and Brunel began to get restless so it was books down and a dash to catch the open tour bus of Tallinn. It was wonderful sitting on top of the bus seeing all the sites and hearing the history in English. Because Mrs Tonner did not have to be back to the hotel util later they did the bus tour twice!

Here are some pictures from the tour:

Snug As A bug

Brunel and Rusty slept well ready for their next adventure. The sky is blue and the sun is out so it looks like it is going to be a lovely day.

Twelve Hours Later

It took half a day to get to Tallinn in Estonia that we are all very tired. The trip in the car was lovely with a little stop for lunch before going to the Airport. Chicken sandwiches all around and a cake for Brunel and Rusty. At Glasgow Airport it was very busy with lots of holiday makers. This was where we had to say goodbye to Rusty as he was too big to go with Mrs Tonner that she had to ask him to go to sleep in the suitcase. Brunel was able to slip into Mrs Tonner's bag and sit beside her on the flight.

When they arrived at Heathrow in London it was hot but there was no sunbathing as Mrs tonner and Brunel could not go outside because they were waiting for there next flight. This was when Mrs Tonner realised she did not have Estonian money and could not get any. After a little panicking she decided to telephone Miss Hulbert who gave her some advice.

Heathrow was even busier than Glasgow and before long it was time to get the next flight to Helsinki. This flight was longer - 3 hours. No good movies and the food was meetballs, one carrot, a tiny bit of broccoli and instant whip potatoes. Dessert was a little piece of chocolate no bigger than a ten pence piece.

Whilst on the flight a lovely man beside Mrs Tonner spotted her gadgets and started talking to her. He worked for Noikia mobile phones and we came up with some exciting things to do.

We arrived in Helsinki about 11pm ready for out last flight to Tallinn. Now all the planes were quite BIG up until now. This plane looked like a toy and did not half creak and rumble about but we lived to tell the tale and are now in our hotel in Tallin with Mrs Tonner on one bed and Raust and Brunel sharing the other. Goodnight.

We're Going On A Bear Hunt

Today is the start of our BIG adventure. Brunel, Rusty and Mrs Tonner are off to Estonia. Before leaving this morning Mrs Tonner brushed Rusty and Brunel's teeth then they sat on the bed with her dog Mandy watching her pack their bags. We need to get going as we are away to catch the bus into town where Mr Tonner's brother is going to take Mrs Tonner, Rusty and Brunel in his car to Glasgow airport.

Keep reading the blog and see if you can work out what all the different methods of travel Mrs Tonner & Co had to use to get to Estonia.

Busy Bears

What an exciting week with another new arrival. Brunel came to stay with the children in Primary 3 at the High School of Dundee. He travelled all the way by train from South Gloucestershire and was a bit tired when he arrived. Here is Brunel getting to know some new friends (Brunel white dog in picture).

Snow or Chalk?

Mrs Tonner arrived in Folkestone today to visit Rusty's home and find out how Elizabeth is doing. Mrs Cotton and her husband kindly collected Mrs Tonner from the airport and took her around Folkeston and Dover. At Dover Mrs Tonner was shown the White Cliffs of Dover. When she was walking down on the pebble beach she took a picture of the large pieces of chalk as they looked liked large balls of snow.
